Durban Property For Sale

Durban property is always highly sought after, by both the local and international buyer. We give you a brief summary and outline of the suburbs and towns available.

Durban - Central Property

The Berea – The Bluff – Cato Manor – Glenwood – Queensburgh

The Berea overlooks the central city and the Indian Ocean and is made up of trendy apartment blocks and office buildings, making it a popular location of young professionals. Cato Manor - although once a traditionally working class suburb - has undergone tremendous urban redevelopment in recent years, which has lead to an increase in property prices and investment. The same applies to Queensburgh, formerly known as Malvern, a once mainly working class area which has undergone massive urban rejuvenation.

Durban - Northen Property

Chatsworth – Mount Edgecombe – Umdloti – Umhlanga

Chatsworth is a largely Indian populated suburb, and adds to the varied cultures and heritage to be found in Durban. The suburb thus boasts many of the cultures that were acquired from India, and holds the "Temple of Understanding" - South Africa's most spectacular Hindu temple.

Mount Edgecombe is a golf and holiday resort haven offering high-end luxury properties, catering mainly to the well-heeled and foreign property owner. Umdoti meanwhile, is also a resort town, offering dolphin and whale watching in season, and serves as an ideal investment opportunity, as the tourism industry continues to grow in the region.

Umhlanga has become the commercial and business hub of Durban, and also offers a wide array of luxury hotels, resorts and luxury properties, forming part of the "Sugar Coast" of Kwazulu Natal.

Durban - Western Property

Cowies Hill – Hillcrest – Kloof – Pinetown – Westville

Cowies Hill is a quiet, leafy residential suburb which features prominently every year during the annual Comrades Marathon. The tranquil surrounds offers an ideal outlet for those looking to "get away from it all". The town of Hillcrest serves as a microcosm to South Africa's booming economy. Once a sleepy middle-class residential town, it has experiences rapid infrastructure development in recent years, and property values have increased sharply as a result.

Kloof is a leafy, tranquil suburb containing high end properties, and offers several upmarket shopping centres as well as the exclusive "Kloof Country Club". Pinetown represents the industrial sector of the region, and boasts several schools and other educational institutes. This pales in comparison to Westville though, a fast growing academic town which hosts a number of well regarded schools, as well as the "University of Kwazulu-Natal".

Durban - Southern Property

Amanzimtoti – Isipingo – Umlazi

Amanzimtoti is a luxury seaside suburb of Durban, offering spectacular scenery, beautiful beaches and a multitude of sporting facilities. The area is popular with both local and international visitors. Another big drawcard is the relatively low crime rate.
